Laser techniques work by delivering energy in form of light. Our laser acts as a cutting instrument or a vaporizer when it comes into contact with tissue. We use laser techniques in our office for numerous procedures such as:
- periodontal treatment: gingival debridement during scaling and root planing (see tab) to kill the bacteria in the deep pocketing and promote re-growth of gingival tissue.
- crowns: gingival troughing to reduce the inflamed and enlarged gum tissue so we can accurately take impressions and disinfect around the tooth
- gingivectomy: surgical removal of diseased gum tissue to reduce infection and reshape the appearance of the gum tissue
- treatment of herpetic lesions: promotes healing and fewer reoccurrence
